I had a great ice cream with ricotta + infusi di canella flavor... And the cannoli is absolutely amazing. They are filling the cream and add pistacchi in front of you...totally recommend this place!

I went to Don Peppinu in Catania for the famous pistachio caramel ice cream, and it absolutely lived up to the hype — it was delicious. We visited on a weekday around 10 p.m., and even though it was extremely busy, the service was very fast. You order via a touchscreen, get a receipt, and then collect your gelato when your number is called. Everyone spoke English, which made it easy for us, and in about seven minutes, we were in and out. Highly recommend if you’re a pistachio fan!

The ice cream was prepared with passion by the staff. This made it Taste good. You first place your Order on the Screen and then pay. Then you Choose your flavors. What I liked is, those serving the ice cream do not have to collect cash from customers at the same time like in other places. They also wear gloves and this was really hygienic.

There’s a huge variety of flavors to choose from — I tried 8 different ones during my vacation and was very satisfied with all of them. Interestingly, you can’t choose fewer than 2 scoops, but it’s totally worth it for the price. I had a cannolo at the pastry shop next door (which is part of the same place). Super friendly service and great flavors. Easily the best gelateria/pastry shop in Catania. And despite the crowds, the service is fast.

It’s a good gelato but not the best in Sicily - they had a huge variety of flavours - both granita and gelato but not all of them are very tasty. It’s good to try it when in Catania.

Hunting for an authentic gelato as we were? This is the spot! We went 2 nights in a row Sundays are suuuuper busy but very fast service as you can pay and order on a self check machine very efficient, pretty much just take a number and the screen will say it, suuuper tasty! The pistachio one they charge and extra euro, they will just say it while you order it, doesn’t say on the machines but if you like pistachio, that’s the one

Don Peppinu was our first taste of Sicilian gelato, and seeing the crowd outside, we knew we had picked a good one! This is clearly a very popular and well-regarded gelato stop in Catania. The Flavors: The quality of the gelato is superb. I chose two classic Sicilian flavors: Pistachio and Ricotta. Both were incredibly fresh and intense in taste, highlighting the fantastic local ingredients. The flavor intensity is truly what sets this place apart. The System: The ordering process is simple and efficient: you pay first at the machine for the size of your cone/cup, and then you take your receipt to the counter to choose your flavors. A Note on Size: While the quality is top-notch, the portion sizes are just okay; I certainly wouldn't have minded a bit more! However, for the authentic taste and quality, Don Peppinu is a highly recommended stop for any gelato lover visiting Catania

Nice lady behind the counter that was very helpful and kind. I visited on 20 September at 8:30 PM. The cannolis were delicious I had the half and half with Original and pistachio ricotta cheese. My friend had the original plain ricotta cheese. Both were so delicious and we ate them so fast that I forgot to take a photo for posting. They serve illy brand coffee drinks. One of my absolute favorite blends.
